The Social Relations Center sponsors the AUA Lecture Series open to community participation. It also organizes and runs the Artist-in-Residence Program, where local and international artists are invited to hold special classes and lectures, workshops, lessons, and other events during their stay.
AUA Lecture Series
AUA Lecture Series has been held on campus, at Satellite Gallery SA-KURA, and at cultural centers in Aichi prefecture since 2012. Some lectures create a participatory framework where community members can join activities.
Artist-in-Residence (AIR) Program
Aichi University of the Arts (AUA) invites artists from around the world to the university through an artist-in-residence (AIR) program with the goal of promoting collaboration in education and artistic activities. By inviting artists, (including artist groups) who are actively engaged in artistic endeavors, the university aims to enhance exchanges among artists, faculty members and students, and thereby adds some fresh air to the university as an education and research hub with an active atmosphere.
International exchange projects
AUA seeks to be a beacon of arts and culture beyond Japan's borders as well. As such, we invite international students to study while also participating in student and research exchange programs with foreign universities and other overseas institutions. Our hope is to open up new creative possibilities through contact with diverse people and cultures.
We have also signed international exchange agreements with 21 universities and two research facilities (some agreements are limited to certain departments or majors) in 16 countries or regions around the world for the purpose of advancing education and research through faculty and student academic research, student exchange, joint projects, and exchange student programs.
